England manager bans WAGs from Miami training camp

Roy Hodgson has ditched the WAGs from England’s pre-World Cup training camp in Miami next month.
England’s head coach was prepared to fly them out to see the team during their stay in the United States before heading on to Brazil for the start of the World Cup.
But Hodgson has reached the sensible conclusion that disaster could strike if he takes the wives and girlfriends to one of the party capitals of the world.

England’s final warm-up clash in this country is at Wembley against Peru on May 30 and Hodgson has decided to allow the team to spend an extra day at home before travelling to America.
The team will stay at Val de Lobo in the Algarve, Portugal, after the Premier League season finishes.

Although the FA will not be taking the WAGs to Miami, they have made it clear to the players that the families can still fly out to see them at their own expense.
England play their opening group game of the World Cup against Italy in Manaus on June 14 and Hodgson is trying to make sure that the players are fully focused on the tournament when they train in Miami.
