Androgyny suits her! Cate Blanchett

Androgyny suits her! Cate Blanchett smoulders in menswear with short hair on the cover of L'Uomo Vogue

Cate Blanchett dons a suit on the cover of Vogue for the second time this year.
Featured on the February issue of Vogue Australia in a slinky metallic bronze number, the 44-year-old Academy Award winning actress slips into a more androgynous look for her appearance on the March edition of L’Uomo Vogue
The Blue Jasmine star sports a dark suit jacket over a white dress shirt with a bowtie for the Italian men's version of Vogue – in a cover image rendered entirely in black and white, save for the red text.

Her hair is worn short and slicked backward in a classic men's style, her make-up very natural.
Cate wears a smouldering expression, with a hint of mischief in her eyes – highlighted with a bit of eyeliner and mascara.
In a second image, the bowtie is swapped out for a long skinny dark tie, as Cate leans backward with a hand tucked into her pocket.
She looks calm and collected, though captivating with her piercing gaze.

The Aussie actress fronts the Powerful Australia issue of the magazine, alongside Australian film director, Baz Luhrmann, who's also got his own cover.
Such an edition celebrates Australia's creative prowess, also highlighting actors Hugh Jackman, Abbie Cornish, and Chris Hemsworth, musicians Iggy Azalea and Nick Cave, and designers Dion Lee, Josh Goot, and Michael Lo Sordo.
Cate was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia, though lived for much of the early 2000s in England with her husband, Australian playwright and screenwriter Andrew Upton, 48.

In 2006, they settled down permanently in Sydney, Australia.
'We were, after all, tourists in England,’ the mother-of-three said told L’Uomo Vogue of their decision to move (translated from Italian). 'The two of us were born in Australia, where we have our roots…
'Australia has such resources to use that my husband and I decided to go back and reinvent ourselves... It was important for us to recover our history, and from that to shape the future. It has been an extraordinary experience.'

There, she has found a permanent home for her three sons: Dashiell John, 12, Roman Robert, 9, and Ignatius Martin, 5.
Cate sometimes finds the idea of abandoning Hollywood and film very tempting.
However, she has new endeavours up her sleeve, such as making her directorial debut with a film adaptation of the novel, The Dinner, a psychological thriller by Herman Koch.

In it, two brothers have dinner with their wives, and it turns out their sons are linked by a crime, the details of which are gradually revealed during their meal.
'It is a text that fascinates me because it lays bare the angry and hostile side of the Internet, and talks about us as parents, and the secrets we hide,' Cate said.
'I’ve directed plays, but never a movie. I'd like to try, but you know, I have three small children, so we'll see...'
