Outspoken and articulate, Renuka Chaudhary was one of the voices of the Congress Party until recently when she was removed from the job. She entered politics in 1984. She has been Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare in the Deve Gowda government. She was elected to the Lok Sabha from Khamma in 1999 and 2004. Renuka has also been on the Committee on Finance and Committee on the Empowerment of Women. In 2004 she became the Minister of State for Tourism in the UPA government, after which she was Union Minister of state for Women and Child Development.
